Winter Program 2025
Winter is such a beautiful under appreciated season.
A season where many people hide inside their homes and wait for better weather. But winter brings so many fun opportunities to explore and adventure.
There are so many unique opportunities for play in the winter months that you can not get to enjoy any other time.
There are two programs available for children aged between 4 - 10.
Oak Tree Program is a 1/2 day program and is ideal for younger children who are new to forest school or who would prefer shorter winter hours.
Evergreen Program is the full day program which is geared towards children who are 4 + and who would benefit from a full day outside. This program is also perfect for children who attend kindergarten full time and need a little break outside at Mountain Road Homestead Forest School.
Some of the fun activities we will be enjoying during our time at Forest school are:
Snowshoeing
Sledding and tubing down our sledding hill
Track identification
Snow kitchen fun
Squirt water colored painting
Maple Syrup (later in the season)
Plus so much more! We will be enjoying snacks and lunch inside the heated garage. We will also be taking breaks inside to warm up and create some crafts.
Programs start January 6th
Oak Tree Program
This program runs during the mornings 9:30-12:30 Monday or Tuesday.
During this time we will enjoyed a nature themed morning filled with stories, songs, crafts, creative play, exploring the beauty of the forest. This program is also is co-mixed with the Evergreen group.
Monday - $220 for 6 weeks of programming (January 6th - February 10th) The week of the 18th is free for canceled days due to incline weather)
Tuesday - $220 for 6 weeks of programming (January 7th - February 11th) The week of the 18th is free for canceled days due to incline weather)
Evergreen Program
This programs run a full day 9:30-2:30.
This program is geared towards children who are 4 and older. During this time we will be able to dive deeper into the learning all about nature and exploring the forest.
Monday - $340 for 6 weeks of programming (January 6th - February 10th) The week of the 18th is free for canceled days due to incline weather)
Tuesday - $340 for 6 weeks of programming (January 7th - February 11th) The week of the 18th is free for canceled days due to incline weather)
Registration opens to the public on November 3rd, emailing list October 27th and continuing families October 13th.
