🌿 Program Overview: Forest & Garden School

Children Belong Outside!

At Mountain Road Homestead, we believe every child deserves the chance to explore nature in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Our Forest & Garden School offers children the opportunity to connect deeply with the earth and all that surrounds them—learning through play, exploration, and discovery.

🌱 What Children Will Learn

Our program integrates a wide range of subjects — including math, literature, arts, and science — all rooted in nature and hands-on experiences. Children build gross motor skills through constant physical activity, exploring diverse landscapes and engaging in outdoor play.

Students will:

  • Discover the incredible diversity of plants, animals, and invertebrates that live in our forests and gardens.

  • Get their hands dirty in large vegetable gardens, learning how to plant, nurture, and harvest a variety of foods.

  • Experience learning as a continuous process of curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
