Rewilding our children
Forest & Garden School
“Encourage your child to have muddy, grassy or sandy feet by the end of each day, that’s the childhood they deserve”

🌿 Program Overview: Forest & Garden School
Children Belong Outside!
At Mountain Road Homestead, we believe every child deserves the chance to explore nature in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Our Forest & Garden School offers children the opportunity to connect deeply with the earth and all that surrounds them—learning through play, exploration, and discovery.
🌱 What Children Will Learn
Our program integrates a wide range of subjects — including math, literature, arts, and science — all rooted in nature and hands-on experiences. Children build gross motor skills through constant physical activity, exploring diverse landscapes and engaging in outdoor play.
Students will:
Discover the incredible diversity of plants, animals, and invertebrates that live in our forests and gardens.
Get their hands dirty in large vegetable gardens, learning how to plant, nurture, and harvest a variety of foods.
Experience learning as a continuous process of curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
